General Terms
- Summit Lodge is a strictly non-smoking establishment. Failure to comply will result in the guest being charged for cleaning and other costs associated with restoring the unit to its original condition.
- Keys are loaned to guests for their convenience and security. Under no circumstances are keys to be loaned/handed to persons other than those persons, occupying the relevant rooms.
- Events such as load shedding, other power cuts and/or water cuts by local authorities and extreme weather conditions shall be deemed to be beyond the control of the Lodge.
- Confirmation of a booking by the guest shall be deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
- All children are welcome.
- Pets are not allowed.
Bookings and Accomodation
- Bookings are subject to availability at the time of booking.
- Rates are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR).
- Rates do not include meals.
- Bookings are not confirmed until the required deposit has been received within 7 days.
- Summit Lodge has the right to cancel any confirmed booking at any time without any Liability to the guest if the Lodge deems it necessary or for any reason beyond the control of the Lodge or as a result of any strike, lockout or industrial unrest.
- It is the responsibility of the Guest to manage the reservation made. Failure to cancel a reservation may result in cancellation charges being applied.
- The reservation will not be automatically cancelled unless released by the Guest.
- Rooms are allocated to guests at the discretion of the reservations team.
- The Lodge may, at its sole discretion, impose a minimum number of days and rooms for
- Accommodation booked during certain periods. The rates applicable during the periods in question may also change without notice.
Arrival and Depature Times
- It is expressly understood by the guest that Summit Lodge is not a hotel and there is no 24-hour reception.
- Booked rooms will be made available to guests between 14:00 and 19:00 on the day of arrival.
- Late arrivals can only be accommodated if guest have notify the lodge for the late arrival.
- To guarantee early check-in or late departure, arrangements should be made with the lodge in advance
- Guests must check out by 10:00am on the day of departure.
- If the room is not vacated by 10:00am, a late departure penalty up to the cost of one night’s accommodation will apply.
Groups
- The person on whose behalf the booking is made, the tour guide and/or tour leader is responsible for the safety of the group members, for good order and tidiness in and around the accommodation and for the compliance of the house rules by the group members.
- The person/company making the group booking is ultimately responsible for full payment for all rooms.
- Should the number of people in the group varies between the date of booking and the date of stay, it is the responsibility of the person/company making the group booking to ensure that the rooms are fully occupied. The room rate agreed at the time of booking and final payment will apply.
- Should any person that form part of the Group or any of your guests fail to comply with the rules of the Lodge, the tour guide and/or tour leader will be held liable for all legal costs and/or other damages arising from the failure to comply with the resort rules.
- Group bookings require full payment in advance of the group’s arrival.
- No non-guaranteed group bookings will be reserved.
Payment
- A deposit of 50% of the total amount due is required to secure the booking.
- The balance of the amount due for the accommodation, is payable on arrival of the guest.
Cancellation Policy
- On arrival or during stay – full payment for the entire booking may be retained.
- 0 – 14 days prior to arrival, no show – full deposit will be forfeited.
- 15 – 28 days prior to arrival – 15% (fifteen percent) of the deposit may be retained.
- 28 days or more prior to arrival – 10% (ten percent) of the deposit may be retained.
Disclaimer
- Summit Lodge shall not be liable for any loss of life, personal injury and/or loss or damage to property.
- The Guest accordingly indemnifies and holds Summit Lodge harmless from and against any and all claims which may be made against the Resort, howsoever arising.
- Summit Lodge shall not be liable for any defects in the accommodation, which are not immediately apparent in the exercise of reasonable care, or for any loss or damage arising therefrom. No reduction in price may be claimed.
- Guests understand and agree that Summit Lodge will not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to parked vehicles or property contained in such vehicles. Vehicles and property are left at the guest’s own risk.
Guest Responsibility
- The Guest shall be responsible for any and all damage and/or loss caused to the premises and/or any property thereon by any act or omission whatsoever.
- The Guest shall at all times comply with all smoking rules and regulations of the lodge.
- The Guest together with the signatory jointly warrant that all information provided herein is true and correct.
- The undersigned hereby confirms that he/she has read and understood all the terms and conditions of this Agreement and that the Guest hereby accepts and agrees to abide by them.
- Please respect that there are other people and neighbours in the Lodge, and try to keep noise to a minimum, especially at night. Management reserves the right to judge the acceptable level of noise or behaviour of guests who must take all steps to remedy the situation as requested by Management.
- We will not tolerate foul language, abuse or violence towards us or any of our guests.
- Management reserves the right to refuse entry to any guest who appears to be drunk or under the influence of illegal drugs. Anyone refused entry under these conditions will not be entitled to a refund.
- Whilst every precaution is taken to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests, guests are responsible for their own property and person. Any loss, damage, theft or accident should be reported immediately.
- If the Guest has any complaint about any aspect of the services provided by the Lodge, it is the Guest’s responsibility to inform the Management immediately or at the first available opportunity and in any event before the end of the stay. It is expressly agreed between the parties that failure by the Guest to notify Management of any complaint in accordance with the timescale set out above shall entitle the Proprietor to refuse to entertain the complaint, irrespective of the merits of the complaint.
- Guests are required to produce a valid form of identification at the time of check-in; acceptable forms of identification are a South African National Identity Book/Card or a valid passport.
- Weapons of any kind are not permitted to be brought onto the Lodge premises, nor are weapons to be stored or handled anywhere in or on the resort premises, and it is the owner’s risk and responsibility to ensure that weapons are properly secured off-site.
- Guests are specifically advised that there is no lifeguard on duty at the swimming pool of the Lodge. It is the responsibility of the Guest to supervise all minors, in their care, at all times, both in the swimming pool and on the Lodge premises in general. Guests indemnifies the Lodge against any loss, damage, death or injury caused to a minor while not under the supervision of the Guest.
